Submitting Serum 2 Presets to Splice Sounds

1. Preparing Serum 2 Content for Splice:

1.1 Use the filename format: LABEL_PACK_instrument_uniquename.SerumPreset

Example: TSP_S2PE_bass_wubber.SerumPreset

1.2 Save your Preset in the file format “.SerumPreset”

Please Note: For presets that rely on external content such as wavetables or multi-sampler elements, ensure that all necessary assets are embedded and saved within the preset.

1.3 Test your Preset by:

  • Ensure it does not clip when multiple notes are used

  • Optimize its performance by lowering the total voice count (if needed)

  • If your preset includes external content, test your preset on a different machine to ensure it loads correctly


1.4 User Macros: Include user macros for additional functionality and an improved user experience.

2. Preparing Preset Previews:

All Presets require a “Preset Preview”. Preset Previews are short 10-15 second compositions that demonstrate the sound of the preset, with no other accompanying audio content.

Export Preset Previews as MP3s with a bitrate of 320kbps and a peak volume of -1.0dB.

3. Submitting Serum 2 content to Splice:

3.1. Submit your Presets in the usual way on Dropbox:

  • Upload your Presets into a “Serum 2” folder inside the “Presets” folder. Please include the version number in the folder name, ex: “Serum 2 v2.0.16”

  • Include an mp3 Preset Preview file for each preset.

  • Ensure the Preset & Preset Preview filenames match exactly (except for the file extension). 

  • All content included in a preset and preview must be 100% original, wholly owned by your label, and free from any existing licenses or rights restrictions.

3.2. When using the Submission Form, select “Serum 2” in the “Plugins” section.

Finally, please be aware we may make changes and improvements to these submission requirements as we continue to optimize Preset content for our platform to create the best possible experience for our customers.
