Folder Organization

Overview

It’s important that every pack is organized in a way that makes it easy for our users to find what they’re looking for. Please follow the below pack structure as closely as possible, improvising only when necessary depending on the type of content that will be in your final pack. You’ll notice that there are two main categories in the audio folder - LOOPS and ONE SHOTS. For real-world examples of finished packs, please see the Example Packs section and download a few packs from our website. You may also download a template folder for your own use HERE.

The Importance of Folders and Their Structure

We use folders as part of Splice’s tagging systems. For best user experience please use separate folders as much as possible.

  • Though percussion can technically be drums it is best practice to have separate drums and percussion folders. Loops such as top loops would also have their own folder.

  • Orchestral Samples should be treated the same way. Though it makes sense to want to put them together, for user experience it is best to separate them. Rather than just one orchestral folder, separate the instruments into folders ie. flute loops, horn loops, string loops.
