Allowed & Prohibited Music Tools

There are a few things to consider when using any third party product to create original royalty-free content:

• You must own a fully licensed version of the product and must be a registered user.

• No factory content such as presets, built-in audio samples, or built-in patterns should be used. If you require the use of any of these types of content, you must receive written permission from Splice's Music Production team before incorporating them into the content you're delivering to Splice.

• Presets may provide a good starting point for further manipulation, but should never be used as-is - it’s often a good idea to initialize synthesizers before getting to work on a new sound so that you can start from scratch using the available oscillators, filters, and effects.

• Samplers that contain built-in audio should be used for their sampling and manipulation capabilities only - not their built-in sounds.

• Sounds created with cleared third party instruments should be used compositionally - it’s best to avoid using any of the sounds dry or in isolation. For example no unaltered one-shots of a raw LinnDrum or single Nord piano note.
